  • Aims to influence SWE GVT's digitalization strategy due to be drawn up autumn 2024, which is expected to contain long-term vision and concrete measures for development.

  • SWE ENT considers it is time to clear the way for increased digitization and AI use.
  • Has gathered measures in the position paper to clarity the needs of of the business community ahead of the Swedish government's upcoming digitization strategy.
  • Technological development is changing entire business sector through new products, markets and business models, businesses want to be able to take advantage of this.
  • But need reforms to make it easier to use data and AI effectively and responsibly.
  • SWE ENT has identified 11 key areas for reform that span several policy areas.
  • These include: better conditions for skills provision; research and development; digital infrastructure and electricity supply, with reforms also needed to promote access to computing capacity and data, protect propriety data, and secure data flows.
  • In addition reforms are required to accelerate the digitization of welfare, AI-enabled procurement and the modernization of value added tax (VAT) management.
  • The regulatory burden and complexity of the regulatory framework also need to be reduced to strengthen ability of businesses to take part in value chains as suppliers.
  • As well as containing proposals for reforms, the position paper contains descriptions of challenges that companies face in their digital transformation.
