The administrative review tribunal (tribunal), a new administrative review body replacing the administrative appeals tribunal (AAT), will commence on Oct. 14, 2024.

Overview of the Rules
The 2024 rules deal with several matters, which are required to support the operation of the tribunal and are required or permitted to be established under the ARTact.
They include matters that are currently dealt with such as timeframes for making applications to the tribunal, matters which decision-makers must have regard to when giving notices of decision, witness fees and allowances, and application fees.
Specifies additional tribunal powers and functions which the president may authorize members, registrars, or staff members to exercise or perform; reflects changes to the way that powers and functions of the tribunal are dealt with under the ARTact.
Prescribes matters re the giving of election and participation notices, introduces application fees to the guidance and appeals panel, reflects new legislative feature.
Effectiveness
Consultation closes on Aug. 5, 2024.
