  • From as early as 2015, LeoPalace provided non-Japanese employees, including certain former employees of American national origin in Guam with less favorable wages.
  • The Americans of national origin were also paid less benefits, terms and conditions of employment compared to Japanese employees who held equal or lesser positions.
  • The conduct violated Title VII of the Civil rights act of 1964, 42 USC 2000e, et seq.

  • LeoPalace Resort has been ordered to pay $1,412,500 and agreed to comprehensive injunctive relief, including hiring an external equal employment opportunity monitor.
  • The relief involves training and review of policies and procedures, overseeing the reinstatement of former employees interested in going back to work for LeoPalace.
  • The monitor will also conduct periodic audits and will report to the EEOC.
