CAN GVT responded to the unjustified tariffs through countermeasures implementing their own 25% tariffs on $155 billion worth of goods imported from the United States.
States less than 1% of fentanyl and illegal crossings into the US come from Canada.
CAN GVT will consider additional measures, including non-tariff options, if needed.
Canada and the US have agreed to delay tariffs until Mar. 4, 2025 due to cooperation.
