LTH CB Contactless Payment, Covid
On Mar. 25, LTH CB noted agreement to raise contactless limit.
- Noted rise of coronavirus infections and importance of complying with hygiene requirements, avoiding unnecessary contact with potentially unsafe surfaces.
- Banks operating in Lithuania signed a memorandum agreeing to double the payment limit by contactless payment cards up to EUR 50; measure supported by LTH CB.
- Only valid during quarantine period; does not apply to cards issued outside Lithuania.
- Increased limit applies only to physical sales transaction points and is subject to usual extra security measures, for example, customers may be asked to enter PIN number.
