IND NPC said it is implementing advanced encryption standard (AES) as mandatory encryption protocol in the Online Mandate Gateway Service (ONMAGS) application.
This circular is addressed to all National Automated Clearing House (referred to as the NACH) member banks, along with corporates and aggregators participating in NACH.
AES Encryption
Aims to enhance data security as well as align with modern encryption standards.
AES encryption will be enforced for all authentication modes within the application.
Technical requirements are provided in annexure I; banks, corporates ready with new encryption methodology can approach NPC for certification to transition to production.
Non-compliance will lead to discontinuation of services for the affected participants.
Effectiveness
Members must adopt the new encryption methodology by Jan. 31, 2025.
