On Sep. 20, LOU LEG extended 2023 emergency due to heat events.
LOU LEG issued Executive Order (EO) JML 24-148 to renew until Oct. 20, 2024 state of emergency due to heat-related events that occurred in summer to the fall of 2023.
Emergency Extension
Emergency was declared through Proclamation No. 141 JBE 2023, and renewed and extended every 30 days through EO JML 24-134, in effect through Sep. 22, 2024.
In addition to heat, minimal rainfall led to drought which stressed abilities of the water districts to produce drinking water to residents/businesses, increased wildfire threat.
Statewide burn ban issued through Nov. 21, 2023, due to extremely dry conditions.
Has been deemed necessary to extend emergency in Proclamation No. 141 JBE 2023.
Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) are authorized to continue to undertake any activity authorized deems appropriate in response to declaration.
Prices charged, value received for goods and services sold not exceed prices ordinarily charged for comparable goods, services in same area at or before State of emergency.
Corresponding rules and regulations continue to be suspended for the purpose of the procurement of any goods or services necessary to respond to this emergency.
Effectiveness
EO effective upon signature, remains in effect from Sep. 20, 2024 to Oct. 20, 2024.
