Regulation shall enter into force on 20th day following OJ publication, Mar. 30, 2025.

Oct. 18, 2024 Consultation Launched
On Oct. 18, 2024, EC launched consultation, seeking feedback on a draft regulation for setting up a new scientific advisory group of independent experts to assist the AI Office and national authorities in the implementation and enforcement of the AI Act.
Advisory body will play a key role in governance, offer technical advice and input on enforcement, including alerting AI Office of risks posed by a general-purpose AI model.
EC will adopt an implementing act to lay down rules and procedures for establishing and operating the panel, then launch a call for expressions of interest to select experts.
