UAE MOHRE launched four services to rectify the status of violating workers and exempt establishments from administrative fines during a two-month grace period.
Follows UAE MOHRE Aug. 2024 amended the Labor Law regulations, see #222620.
Summary
From Sep. 1 to Oct. 31, 2024, Towards a safer society is aimed at those who incurred violations before Sep. 1, 2024, operated with Federal authority for identity, citizenship, customs and port security; applies to those eligible for status settlement grace period.
Services include: issuance; renewal; work permit cancellation; work abandonment complaint processing, both for those affiliated to establishments and domestic workers.
Establishments can also apply for exemption from penalties resulting from failure to provide UAE MOHRE with employment contracts, or failing to renew work permits.
Applications are accepted via website, MOHRE app, business/domestic worker centers.
UAE MOHRE urged violating workers and employers to take advantage of the grace period to rectify their status and the opportunity to continue working in UAE or leave the country without legal consequences and exemption from financial penalties.
