Navigators
Navigators offer free, unbiased, community-based education and assistance.
Outreach efforts include public information events and activities meant to connect and educate consumers about their health coverage options and financial assistance.
Last year, NJ Dept of Banking and Insurance invested $5 million in 26 Navigators.
This is up from $400,000 for just one navigator under the federal government in 2019.
NJ began operating as a State-Based Marketplace on Nov. 1, 2020 under NJ INS 17B:27A-59.1 signed by Governor Murphy; in addition to federal tax credits.
Tax credits available through the federal Affordable Care Act,42 USC 18001.
Began offering State-level subsidies to further lower health care plan costs.
Get Covered New Jersey Program
The average amount of financial help received for 2024 coverage is $566 per person per month, or $6,792 per person per year, as a result of federal and state savings.
Nine out of 10 residents enrolling at Get Covered New Jersey qualify for financial help.
Many individuals receiving financial help have access to a health plan at $10 a month.
