On Aug. 28, ASX issued business continuity plan schedule for 2025.
ASX advised customers that it will be conducting two business continuity plan (BCP) tests, in the production ASX trade environment on May 3, 2025 and Oct. 18, 2025.
Follows ASX Aug. 2024 issued business continuity arrangements factsheet, #222077.
Context
ASX highlighted ASIC's market integrity rules aimed at promoting technological and operational resilience of securities and futures market operators and participants.
These rules set out expectations re BCP and maintaining plans that effectively enable continued operation or restoration of critical business services during a major event.
Next Steps
ASX expects all participants attend the 2 events above; vendors and approved market operators (AMOs) will also be strongly encouraged to participate in all BCP events.
ASX will release a notice closer to the test dates detailing the schedule and what is expected of participants in preparation for the test and on the day of the test itself.
Sep. 2024 BCP Testing in Oct.
On Sep. 19, 2024, ASX said it will conduct a BCP test in the ASX Trade production environment on Oct. 19, 2024; registrations by Oct. 11 to confirm participation.
This BCP event will simulate a complete ASX Trade failover from ASX Liquidity Centre to the secondary data centre; customer equipment and all connectivity products which do not interface directly with ASX Trade Services will not be impacted.
Participants shall submit a declaration of participation form following the event.
