MA LEG enacted HB 4890 relating to salary range data reporting and transparency.
Amends MA LEG I-II-9, adding section 32 on equal opportunity employment, and amending MA LEG I-II-23 on employer wage data reporting requirements.
Bill Provisions
Expands the definition of covered employer and equal opportunity employment data.
Sets deadline of Apr. 1 state secretary to report data to office of labor and workforce.
The state secretary to establish a web portal, sample email submission or paper form to facilitate the submission of required wage data reports by covered employers.
Executive office of labor and workforce development shall publish on its website aggregate wage data reports consisting of data received from employers, secretary.
Covered employers to disclose the full pay range when posting specific employment opportunities, and to disclose pay range for employees offered a promotion, transfer.
Those who fail to comply with reporting and transparency requirements will be fined.
