Action makes funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Boone, Brooke, Doddridge, Gilmer, Hancock, Lincoln, Marshall, Ohio, Tyler, and Wetzel.
Federal funding also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures.

Jun. 13, 2024 FEMA Updates
On Jun. 13, 2024, FEMA reported over $2mn in assistance for WV disaster declaration.
$1.23mn in housing assistance to help homeowners and renters with temporary housing and essential home repairs, $833k for transportation, medical, child care etc.
Assistance available for Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel counties, disaster recovery centers also available.
Jul. 2024 FEMA, SBA Assistance
On Jul. 5, 2024, FEMA made assistance available under Individuals and Household Program to help with costs from damage, losses caused by April 11-12, 2024, storms.
Residents of Hancock, Kanawha, Marshall, Ohio, Roane, Wetzel, and Wood counties are eligible to apply for assistance from FEMA in the Individuals and Household Program.
Applicants may qualify for displacement assistance, rental assistance, basic home repairs, personal property losses, other eligible expenses related to storm damage.
FEMA assistance may be available to residents with and without insurance coverage.
Also available is Other Needs Assistance covering personal essentials and property, medical and dental expenses, funeral costs, person vehicles, and generators.
Also, on Jul. 5, 2024, SBA also announced EIDL and property damage loan assistance.
Eligible to counties mentioned above; small business in adjacent PA, OH, WV counties may only apply for EIDL, Beaver, Greene and Washington counties in Pennsylvania.
Further, Athens, Belmont, Columbiana, Jefferson, Meigs, Monroe, Washington (OH).
Jul. 8, 2024 FEMA Declaration
On Jul. 8, 2024, FEMA issued WV disaster declaration dated May 24, 2024, due to severe storms, flooding, landslides, mudslides that occurred Apr. 11 to Apr. 12, 2024.
President Biden authorized funds for disaster assistance, administrative expenses, individual and public assistance in the designated areas at 75% of total eligible costs.
Hazard mitigation grant program assistance is also available for use throughout WV.
Boone, Brooke, Doddridge, Gilmer, Hancock, Lincoln, Marshall, Ohio, Tyler, and Wetzel counties eligible for public assistance, hazard mitigation assistance available for WV.

Jul. 24, 2024 FEMA Individual Assistance
On Jul. 24, 2024, FEMA reported residents of Hancock, Kanawha, Marshall, Roane, Wetzel, Wood, Ohio counties may apply for aid to help with costs from storm damage.
Applicants may qualify for rental assistance, assistance with basic home repairs, personal property losses and other eligible expenses related to storm damage.
FEMA assistance may be available to residents with and without insurance coverage.
Deadline to apply for assistance for damages due to storms is Sep. 3, 2024.
Jul. 26, 2024 FEMA Additional Coverage
On Jul. 26, 2024, FEMA reminded damage to furnaces, septic systems, private roads and/or bridges, or private wells may also be covered by financial assistance from FEMA
Residents of Hancock, Kanawha, Marshall, Ohio, Roane, Wetzel and Wood counties whose residences were damaged during the Apr. 11-12, severe storms may be eligible.
FEMA disaster assistance may provide reimbursement for cost of a professional and licensed technician’s estimate of the repair, replacement of these items, actual repair.
Jul. 30, 2024 FEMA $6mn Disaster Assistance
On Jul. 30, 2024, FEMA reported that aid for survivors of Apr. storms passed $6mn.
Federal disaster assistance available for counties of Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel in West Virginia.
The deadline for federal assistance was Jul. 22, 2024, but residents can still get assurance with applications online or in-person at disaster recovery centers.

On Aug. 17, 2024, FEMA reported that Boone County had been added to the federal disaster declaration related to severe storms, flooding, landslides of Apr. 11-12, 2024.
The deadline for impacted persons to register for FEMA assistance is Sep. 3, 2024.
Aug. 19, 2024 SBA Additional Counties
On Aug. 19, 2024, SBA added more counties to West Virginia disaster declaration.
Disaster declaration now covers Boone, Hancock, Kanawha, Marshall, Ohio, Roane, Wetzel, Wood in WV, all eligible for Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
Small businesses, most private nonprofit organizations in adjacent counties are eligible to apply for EIDLs; these counties include Brooke, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Fayette.
As well as, Harrison, Jackson. Lincoln, Logan, Marion, Monongalia, Nicholas, Pleasants, Putnam, Raleigh, Ritchie, Tyler, Wirt and Wyoming in West Virginia.

Aug. 22, 2024 SBA Amendment 1
On Aug. 22, 2024, SBA publishedfederal register notice of its Amendment 1 to the presidential disaster declaration of Jul. 3, 2024, regarding storms, floods, landslides.
Amendment adds primary county of Boone and contiguous Logan and Wyoming.
All other information in the original disaster declaration remains unchanged.
Aug. 23, 2024 FEMA Boone County Survivor Aid
On Aug. 23, 2024, FEMA reported that Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) teams will working in Boone County neighborhoods beginning Aug. 24, to help in applying for aid.
These specialists can assist homeowners and renters impacted by storm of Apr. 11-12, 2024, with their applications, update their records and make referrals to community.
They tailor the information and services they provide to the individual survivor’s needs.
These FEMA personnel carry official ID and residents are encouraged to ask to see it.
Survivors may qualify for rental aid, uninsured repairs, uninsured personal expenses.
Aug. 27, 2024 FEMA Extended Registration
On Aug. 27, 2024, FEMA reported that the deadline for West Virginia storm survivors to register for federal assistance has been extended to Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.
Extension was granted at the request of WV governor citing a continued flow of new applications for federal assistance due to Apr. 11-12 floods, landslides, and mudslides.
Aug. 28, 2024 SBA Extends Deadline
On Aug. 28, 2024, SBA published update to application deadline for federal disaster loans for physical damage to Nov. 2, for damage from storms, landslides, Apr 11-12.
Additionally, the deadline to submit economic injury applications is Apr. 3, 2025.
Sep. 2024 FEMA Amendment No. 2
On Sep. 11, 2024, FEMA published in the federal register Amendment No. 2 to the May 24, 2024 White House declaration of disaster for West Virginia (FEMA-4787-DR).
The amendment makes Boone County eligible for Individual Assistance (already eligible for Public Assistance under the existing declarations relating to these storms.
Sep. 13, 2024 SBA Published Amendment 2
On Sep. 13, 2024, SBA published Amendment 2 in federal register extending application deadline for physical damage loans due to this disaster to Nov. 2, 2024.
