Current law forbids a financial institution from disclosing consumer personal financial records unless authorized by the individual or by certain Connecticut commissioners.
HB 5146 amends the law for persons deputized by commissioners to disclose records.
Adds clause for the financial institution to disclose within 20 calendar days of notice.
A person who knowingly and willfully induces or attempts to induce an officer or staff of a financial institution to disclose financial records is guilty of a class C misdemeanor.
