  • Amends rule regarding enrollment periods for individual and group health benefit plans
  • Applies to all carriers offering individual and/or group health benefit plans in Colorado.
  • Amends requirements for special enrollment periods for individuals who experience triggering events, when carrier must provide a special enrollment period of 60 days.
  • Extends special enrollment period for individuals under section 5.D.4.h.9 from 16 to 20 months, beginning on Apr. 1, 2023 and now extended through Nov. 30, 2024.
  • Adds provision that an individual that becomes eligible for financial assistance and income is expected less than 150% of federal poverty level can enroll at any month.
  • Also adds a provision regarding the circumstances an individual becomes ineligible.
  • Upon adoption, the amended regulation 4-2-43 will become effective on Jul. 30, 2024.
