MD LEG passed SB 15/HB 309 altering dispute resolution procedures under MD Cooperative Housing Corporation Act, and dispute settlement in cooperative housing.
The bill repeals and reenacts with various amendments in MD LEG 5-6B-30.
Provisions
Applies to complaints or demands arising on or after Oct. 1, 2023 unless the cooperative corporation's bylaws or lease of a party to dispute states otherwise.
Defines service of notice of a dispute to a member and states alleged violation, steps required to abate the violation, and a time period of not less than 15 days to cure.
Provides procedures for requesting a hearing regarding the dispute with at least 10 days' prior notice of such hearing and the time and place of the hearing required.
Sets procedure for board to act if member does not request a hearing on matter.
