On Jan. 24, ASX scheduled Austraclear ISO 20022 implementation.
ASX issued notice re Austraclear's implementation timeline of ISO 2002 messaging.
Document dated Jan. 24, 2024, was added on Mar. 4, 2024 due to editorial backfill.
Implementation
Austraclear is scheduled to adopt SWIFT standard ISO 20022 for category 1, 2 and 9 messages in Nov. 2024, to prepare for the conclusion (in Nov. 2025) of SWIFT support for the co-existence of ISO 15022 MT/ISO 20022 MX category 1, 2 and 9 messages.
Currently, Austraclear is capable of receiving ISO 20022 MX category 1 and 2 messages, which are then translated into MT messages within the Austraclear system.
Commencing Nov. 2024, Austraclear will also be equipped to respond to MX messages directly, in addition to its continued support for the equivalent MT messages.
In Nov. 2025, it will cease to accept ISO 15022 MT category 1, 2 and 9 messages.
Next Steps
Participants planning to exchange MX messages with Austraclear from Nov. 2024 should review the relevant MX message specifications and ensure compliance.
The Austraclear test environment is currently available for limited purposes; from Sep. 2024, participants will be able to conduct comprehensive testing of the entire suite.
