UK LSE Alternative Site Recovery Test

Published on: Mar 6, 2025

On Mar. 3, UK LSE informed of alternative site recovery (ASR) test.

  • UK LSE informed of an exchange alternative site recovery test that will be carried out.
  • Purpose
  • The ASR Test for UK LSE, TRADEcho, Turquoise and Turquoise Europe will include Group Ticker Plant (GTP) market data protocol; simulation of live service's disruption.
  • Serious enough to warrant a controlled system shutdown at the Primary Data Centre (PDC), followed by a recovery at the Alternate Site or Secondary Data Centre (SDC).
  • The simulation exercise will test the technical process of recovery and sequence of events during this process; the process of suspension and restoration of the market.
  • The communications between UK LSE and customers during recovery; customers' ability to connect to the Alternate Site and trade via their connection to UK LSE SDC.
  • London hosted customers are invited to participate in the ASR test; this will simulate a local platform issue and allow customer traffic routing between the PDC and the SDC.
  • UK LSE will undertake some intraday reference data actions which will include the suspension and/or restoration of instruments; recommendations for participation.
  • Effectiveness
  • The ASR test is scheduled for Mar. 29, 2025.
  • UK LSE, TRADEcho, Turquoise and Group Ticker Plant (GTP) customers need to register their interest to attend by email before Mar. 21, 2025.
  • Only those customers who register will receive further information and the schedule of the ASR test closer to the date of the test weekend.
