On Mar. 3, IND NPC issued guidelines on monthly mapper data report.
IND NPC published an addendum to its circular dated Jul. 20, 2021 re numeric UPI ID mapper rollout, to enhance interoperability and user convenience in UPI payments.
Follows IND NPC Sep. 2021 updated on the rollout of the UPI ID Mapper, see #115143.
Outline of Addendum
Member banks, payment service provider (PSP) applications shall use the mobile number revocation list/digital intelligence platform, regularly update their database.
These measures will reduce the chance of errors due to churned mobile numbers.
UPI app shall obtain explicit user consent with clear opt-out option for seeding/porting UPI number; where IND NPC mapper response time is not as per requirements, PSP app can resolve the number locally and report such occurrences on a monthly basis.
Effectiveness
PSP/UPI app shall submit monthly mapper data using attached form from Apr. 1, 2025.
