GE GVT Covid Bridging Allowance IV

  • Self-Employed
  • In addition to bridging aid IV, restart aid 2022 is available; still aimed at self-employed who lost sales due to Covid, who di not benefit from bridging aid IV low fixed costs.
  • Restart aid will also be available until end of Mar. 2022; self-employed can continue to receive up to €1,500 in direct grants per month, for total of up to €4,500.

  • Bridging aid IV is extended to Mar. 31, 2022.
  • Feb. 2022 Bridging Aid IV Extended
  • On Feb. 16, 2022, GE GVT confirmed that Bridging aid IV would be extended from Mar. 2022, to Jun. 2022 and associated Restart and Hardship assistance would also follow.
  • Companies will continue to receive a proportionate reimbursement of fixed costs via the Bridging Aid IV and those hard hit by the pandemic will receive an equity grant.
  • The tried-and-tested Restart Aid for the self-employed will also be continued, with the self-employed receiving direct grants of up to €1,500 per month until Jun. 30, 2022.
  • The FAQs on both Bridging Aid IV and Restart Aid 2022 will now be revised promptly.
  • Feb. 17, 2022 Additional Information
  • On Feb. 17, 2022, GE GVT published further information about the extension of Covid-19 measures for companies announced on Feb. 16, 2022, including various questions.
  • The material provided also included details of the meeting on Feb. 16, 2022, between GE GVT and the federal States, at which the various Covid-19 measures were agreed.
  • Apr. 1, 2022 Bridging Aid IV Extended
  • On Apr. 1, 2022, GE GVT confirmed Bridging aid IV extended until end of Jun. 2022.
  • Companies that have already received Bridging aid IV for Jan. to Mar. 2022 and need further help can receive funding for months of Apr. to Jun, 2022 via an amendment.
  • Companies that have not applied can apply for full funding period Jan. to Jun. 2022.
  • Aug. 2023 Final Accounts Deadline Extended
  • On Aug. 11, 2023, GE GVT extended Bridging aid deadlines for outstanding accounts.
  • Outstanding final accounts for packages 1 (Bridging aid I to III; November/December aid) and 2 (Bridging aid III Plus/IV) can now be submitted by Oct. 31, 2023.
  • Extension of deadline up to Mar. 31, 2024 can be requested; extensions of deadlines already granted (previously Dec. 31, 2023) automatically extended to Mar. 31, 2024.
  • Mar. 2024 Final Accounts Deadline Announced
  • On Mar. 14, 2024, GE GVT confirmed that the final extension of the deadline for the submission of the final accounts for Bridging aid IV, has been set as Sep. 30, 2024.
  • In accordance with professional organizations of third-party auditors, federal and state governments agreed on final extension of deadline for submitting the final accounts.
  • The federal and state economics ministers discussed further procedure in meeting at the Conference of Economic Ministers, including representatives of Federal Chamber of Tax Consultants (BStBK), as well as German Association of Tax Consultants (DStV).
  • The agreed steps, in particular setting a new end date of Sep. 30, 2024, so all of the approximately 400,000 final invoices still outstanding will be available to 21 approval authorities for examination, as well as simplifications and acceleration of procedures.
  • Jul. 2024 Submissions of Final Statements Due
  • On Jul. 26, 2024, GE GVT reported that the deadline for submissions for COVID-19 aid is Sep. 30, 2024, and submissions should be made now by persons and firms.
  • This last extension of the deadline is as agreed by Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors, German Association of Tax Advisors, and the Chamber of Public Accountants.
  • This extension was also agreed with the Federal Bar Association in Mar. 2024.
