On Jan. 31, SBA reported disaster assistance for Maine floods.
SBA reported that Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) are available in Maine due to the losses resulting from excessive rain and flooding from Apr. 30 to Oct. 15, 2023.
Eligibility
EIDLs are available to small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofits with economic losses due to the drought.
Eligible counties include Androscoggin, Aroostook, Cumberland, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Sagadahoc in ME.
Also, Somerset Waldo, Washington and York in ME, and adjacent counties in NH.
Loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, other bills that could have been paid had disaster not occurred; not intended to replace lost sales/profits.
Application Deadlines
Completed EIDL applications must be submitted to SBA not later than Sept. 24, 2024.
