SBA Maine Floods Disaster Loans

  • SBA reported that Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) are available in Maine due to the losses resulting from excessive rain and flooding from Apr. 30 to Oct. 15, 2023.
  • Eligibility
  • EIDLs are available to small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofits with economic losses due to the drought.
  • Eligible counties include Androscoggin, Aroostook, Cumberland, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Sagadahoc in ME.
  • Also, Somerset Waldo, Washington and York in ME, and adjacent counties in NH.
  • Loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, other bills that could have been paid had disaster not occurred; not intended to replace lost sales/profits.
  • Application Deadlines
  • Completed EIDL applications must be submitted to SBA not later than Sept. 24, 2024.
