On Jan. 3, BEL FIU issued an update on its goAML activities.
BEL FIU issued update, noted it has continued to build user-friendly goAML web portal and developed various reporting forms for different groups of reporters.
As such, the implementation phase of BEL FIU's goAML portal will now commence.
Follows BEL FIU Apr. 2023 joined and uses goAML since Feb. 1, 2023, see #170400.
Overview
BEL FIU organized workshops and created the standard reporting specifications (xsd).
This assisted reporters wishing to automate reporting process (via uploading pre-filled xml or via web service) with a schema template to help IT teams in their development.
BEL FIU received several requests to postpone the implementation of goAML in order to give the IT teams in particular time to adjust the internal systems/processes.
After consideration, BEL FIU plan to put goAML into production in Jun. 2024.
This date should give everyone enough time to be prepared to start the goAML era.
In the coming months, various communications, training and sessions will be provided with various reporters, and guidance documents will be published by BEL FIU.

Apr. 2024 goAML Portal Go-Live Postponed to Sep. 2024
On Apr. 16, 2024, BEL FSMA reported in its AML newsletter that the Belgian Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (CTIF-CFI) postponed launch of goAML from Jun. 1, 2024 until Sep. 30, 2024 so some entities can make IT improvements, implement training.
Obliged entities should register on goAML platform between Aug. 15 - Sep. 15, 2024.
CTIF-CFI will keep entities informed of registration procedure; from Sep. 30, goAML will be the only operational communication tool between the CTIF and declarants.
Apr. 19, 2024 Portal Go-Live Update
On Apr. 19, 2024, BEL FIU updated obliged entities on goAML implementation date.
Documents dated Feb. 21 and Apr. 19, 2024, received on Apr. 24, due to a fixed feed.
The transition to goAML will be very smooth for the majority of reporters who will use goAML to manually enter reports, and necessary guidelines and support are provided.
However, it is a new program and so therefore all the users must be trained for this.
BEL FIU had been told that several obliged entities are unable to meet Jun. 1, 2024 date due to IT adjustments and a postponement was requested to give everyone time.
It is important subject entities, with a new way of working for the future, be supported by everyone and goAML must become a unique communication platform with BEL FIU.
BEL FIU therefore decided to now move the implementation date to Sep. 30, 2024.
But from Sep. 30, 2024, goAML will be the only operational means of communication between the BEL FIU and its reporters, and in second phase, firms will be invited to register entity and contact persons, even if no suspicions have yet been reported.
In concrete terms, from Sep. 30, 2024, before reporting suspicions to BEL FIU, firms must first register their entity on the goAML platform and determine all of the contact persons, according to the registration procedure that will be explained shortly to all.
Aug. 2024 Update
On Aug. 14, 2024, BEL FIU issued communication on the pre-registration procedure.
Re new online reporting system goAML, to consult and get documentation available.
Detailed steps which include email to be created that can be forwarded; plus a confirmation email with a link called Password Link (more details and steps to follow).
