SBA Drought Disaster Aid Available NC


On Dec. 1, SBA made economic injury disaster loans available in NC.


  • SBA made available North Carolina Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) to State's residents, who were impacted by the drought that began on Nov. 14, 2023.
  • Eligibility
  • EIDLs are available for small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, aquaculture businesses, most private nonprofits, not for agricultural producers, farmers, ranchers.
  • Nurseries are eligible to apply for EIDLs for losses caused by drought conditions.
  • Declaration includes NC counties of Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Graham, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, as well asTransylvania.
  • Also, the contiguous counties of: Buncombe, Burke, Haywood, Lincoln, McDowell, and Mecklenburg in NC; the contiguous counties of Fannin, Rabun, Towns, and Union in GA.
  • Further, includes contiguous SC counties of Cherokee, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, York; and contiguous TN counties of: Blount, Monroe, Polk, and Sevier.
  • Loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills.
  • Application Deadline
  • Completed EIDL applications must be submitted to SBA no later than Jul. 22, 2024.
