On Sep. 5, Cboe AST issued notice on business continuity plan event.
Cboe AST published a notice on the Oct. 14 business continuity plan (BCP) event.
BCP Event
Cboe AST will focus on failover from Primary data center (Equinix SY5) to Backup data center (Global Switch) including backend matching engine, order entry connections.
Notes that the event is relevant to Cboe AST participants/vendors present at Global Switch, multicast market data clients will receive market data flow during the test.
Also that trades performed during the test will not flow to CHESS, Cboe AST will not generate orders/trades during the test to be conducted from 8:45 to 12:45 (AEDT).
Those who wish to participate the event should email a request by Oct. 13, 2023.
Mar. 2024 BCP Event
On Mar. 22, 2024, Cboe AST arranged another BCP event to take place May 4, 2024.
On failover from primary to standby instances in the Equinix SY5 data center and to provide an opportunity for testing against the new ASX cancel only session state.
All multicast market data clients will receive market data flow during the tests on May 4, need to ensure that their systems handle/ignore the market data flow accordingly.
Trades performed during the test will not flow to CHESS, Cboe AST will not generate orders/trades during the test to be conducted from 8:45 to 13:45 (AEDT).
Those who wish to participate the event should email a request by May 3, 2024.
Apr. 2024 Event Reminder
On Apr. 16, 2024, Cboe AST issued reminder of BCP event, dress rehearsal is planned for Apr. 19, to ensure systems interact correctly with ASX cancel only session state.
Clients are required to ensure systems can handle and appropriately ignore market data flow during the tests; participation requests should be emailed by May 3. 2024.
Sep. 2024 BCP Event, 2025 Dates
On Sep. 2, 2024, Cboe AST said it will perform a BCP event to failover from primary instances in Equinix SY5 data centre to backup instances in Global Switch data centre.
It is only relevant to participants and vendors who have a presence at Global Switch.
However, all Multicast Market Data clients will receive market data flow during these tests, so will need to ensure their systems handle the market data flow accordingly.
This BCP event will be done on Oct. 19, 2024; Cboe AST has also proposed two dates for BCP and disaster recovery events in 2025 - May 3, 2025 and Oct. 18, 2025.
Oct. 2024 BCP Event Reminder
On Oct. 1, 2024, Cboe AST issued a reminder for the BCP event on Oct. 19, 2024, to failover from primary instances to backup instances in Global Switch data centre.
Cboe AST reiterated that it applies to participants and vendors who have a presence at Global Switch, but Multicast Market Data clients need to ensure their systems handle the market data flow accordingly; and the testing timetable is also provided.
Requests to participate must be submitted by end of business on Oct. 18, 2024.
