On Dec. 13, BNG CB issued circular regarding supplier's/buyer's credit.

  • BNG CB has allowed the import of edible oil, chickpea, pulse, onion, pea, spices, and sugar to be used on usance terms up to 90 days under supplier's/buyer's credit.
  • Follows BNG CB Mar. 2020 published loan rate for consumer goods, see #72926.
  • Effectiveness
  • This facility will remain applicable for the initiation of imports until Mar. 31, 2023.
  • All other provisions made in the previous circular on usance terms remain unchanged.
  • Jan. 2024 Facilitation of Import Transactions
  • On Jan. 11, 2024, BNG CB issued circular to all authorized dealers (ADs) of foreign exchange in Bangladesh on its decision to allow import of certain goods i.e. edible oil, chickpea, pulse, pea on usance terms up to 90 days under supplier’s/buyer’s credit.
  • This facility will remain applicable for initiation of imports until Mar. 31, 2024.
  • Advised ADs to bring the contents of this circular to the notice of their customers.
