On Sep. 21, VA LEG issued real estate board licensing regulations.

  • VA LEG published final rule to amend Virginia Administrative Code Title 18. Professional And Occupational Licensing (VA LEG 18-135-20-II-65) to reduce time a applicant held a license/certification in another State in order to qualify for same in VA
  • Follows VA LEG Sep. 2024 adopted mortgage broker licensing rules, see #225439.
  • Real Estate Board Licensing
  • Reduces the period an applicant must have held current, valid license or government certification in another State to one year to qualify through Virginia's universal license recognition process.
  • Removed outdated Universal License Recognition Form for salespersons and brokers.
  • Effectiveness
  • Final rule becomes effective on Nov. 1, 2026.
