  • Amended Official code of Georgia annotated GA LEG 34-4-4; added new subsection GA LEG 34-6A-4, on prohibited discriminatory activities for persons with disabilities.

  • No employer can utilize certificate from US DoL per 29 USC 214(c) to pay individuals with disabilities less than minimum wage required to be paid under federal law.
  • Employer issued certificate by US DoL on/before Jul. 1, 2025, may utilize certificate provided during Jul. 1, 2026-Jun. 30, 2027, pay at least half minimum wage required.
  • On, after Jul. 1, 2027, employer can no longer utilize such certificate to pay individuals with disabilities less than minimum wage required to be paid under federal law.
