On Nov. 13, AST GVT appointed a statutory reviewer for the ASBFEO.
AST GVT announced the appointment of Judy O'Connell to conduct the statutory review of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO).
This marks third statutory review following previous reviews in 2017 and 2021.
The terms of reference of the review covers types and effectiveness of assistance, need for amendments to improve assistance delivery, ASBFEO's dispute resolution function, effectiveness and efficiency of current functions, and service alignment.
In addition to review of role in franchising sector considering 2023 Franchising code of conduct review findings (#182151), evaluation of office branding and nomenclature.
Independent reviewer to report findings and recommendations to government in 2025.
