MLT FIU announced upgrade of suspicious reporting system (goAML) from Dec. 2024.
Follows MLT FIU Mar. 2024 updated procedure to submit AML reports, see #132916.
Overview of Upgrade
Includes an enhanced web portal user interface, a new XML schema, and additional web portal functionality and a new list of reporting indicators will be provided.
For reporting entities that submit in XML format; FIU will update reporting indicators.
Reporting entities will be required to use the new indicators; for those who submit via the web portal, new indicators will be visible and correct indicators must be chosen.
Update of technical package being worked on, which will feature updated XML schema, technical documentation including the updated indicators and STR/SAR example.
To facilitate the transition phase, FIU will publish the updated technical package, and an updated test environment with the new version to allow the obliged entities to test the new web portal interface and the XML submissions with the mentioned changes.
To ensure the successful transition to the upgraded system, subject persons submitting in XML format, are urged to forward this information immediately to the technical teams and plan the necessary changes before the communicated deadline.
Sep. 2024 Technical Package
On Sep. 11, 2024, MTL FIU released updated technical package for its goAML system.
Post recent communication, technical documentation in relation to report indicators and XML schema have been finalized and are now available.
Released information on newly updated report indicators that will be launched by end of year as important reporting entities are prepared to select new report indicators.
That, as old indicators will no longer be available; reporting entities submitting in XML format, must update local systems with new report indicators to avoid report rejection.
Call for Action Report (CFAR) and Call for Action Transaction Report (CFATR) will both be introduced on goAML as of Jan. 1, 2025.
Main purpose of these reports is for subject persons to report transactions/activity/ies connected to Category 1 jurisdictions via goAML platform per Reg 11(11) PMLFTR.
Upgraded goAML test environment and web portal end user guide per new UI released.
To ensure testing can be performed in advance of go live date, MTL FIU upgraded test environment, now can be used to test web portal UI and XML schema; more details.
Dec. 2024 Upcoming Updates Reminder
On Dec. 6, 2024, MLT FIU reported upcoming updates to GoAML reporting systems.
Titled Upgrading of the Suspicious Reporting System (goAML) and Release of the updated technical package for the FIAUs suspicious reporting system (goAML).
Further to feedback, MLT FIU has revised its list of indicators and looked to redact this list whilst still ensuring that needed data and information can be captured effectively.
List changes includes new indicators which serve to combine one or more of the indicators which were on the previous list, and also other measures to simplify.
For ease of reference, indicators are in categories, ex. Predicate Offences.
MLT FIU advises it is very important that when submitting a report, all indictors which are relevant to the report being submitted are selected, accordingly.
