  • SBA reported five Nebraska counties, neighboring counties in South Dakota and Wyoming are eligible to apply for low interest federal disaster loans, due to drought.
  • Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought that began Jul. 23 in the eligible designated counties.
  • Eligibility
  • Counties that are eligible for EIDLs include primary Nebraska counties of Dawes and Sioux and neighboring Nebraska counties of Box Butte, Scotts Bluff and Sheridan.
  • Includes neighboring SD counties of Fall River, Oglala Lakota; Goshen, Niobrara in WY.
  • Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, most private nonprofits may be eligible for loans up to $2 million dollars.
  • Eligibility for EIDLs is based on the financial impact of the disaster only, not damage.
  • Application Deadline
  • Completed loan applications must be submitted to SBA no later than May 16, 2025.
