Bill Provisions
Prohibits landlord (or agent) from charging tenant fee for serving, posting, or otherwise delivering any notice related to hiring of residential property by the landlord.
Landlord cannot charge tenant fee for payment by check for rent, security deposit.
Must return additional amount of security higher than standard or than advertised within 6 months of residency if tenant not in arrears for any rent due during period.
Incorporate changes proposed by SB 1103, Tenancy of commercial real properties, AB 2801 (Tenancy: security deposits) only if all bills are enacted, this bill enacted last.
