Does not grant an extension to statutory time limits for holding AGMs; companies that fail to comply with the timelines under the Companies act 2013 will face legal action.
IND MCA said companies are also allowed to conduct EGMs via VC/OAVM or transact items through postal ballot in accordance with previous circulars up to Sep. 30, 2025.

Companies whose AGMs are due in the year 2021 may conduct their AGMs on or before Jun. 30, 2022 in accordance with requirements in general circular 20/2020.
This circular shall not be construed as conferring any extension of time for holding of AGMs; companies which have not adhered to timelines shall be liable to legal action.
Dec. 14, 2021 Update
On Dec. 14, 2021, IND MCA decided to allow companies organizing AGMs in 2022 for the financial year to Mar. 31, 2022 to hold them through VC by Jun. 30, 2022.
This shall not be construed as conferring any extension of time for holding of AGMs, and companies which have not adhered to relevant timelines are liable to legal action.
May 2022 Clarification
On May 5, 2022, IND MCA decided to allow companies whose AGMs are due in 2022, to conduct their AGMs through VC or other means on or before Dec. 31, 2022.
