  • MO INS proposed MO LEG 20-2245-6.018 on 2026 appraiser licensure criteria.
  • Outlined requirements set out by Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) for licensure.
  • Follows proposed to update licensing criteria for appraisal trainees, see #215472.
  • Proposed Amendments
  • Applicants who submit an application that is postmarked on or after Jan. 1, 2026, are required to meet the 2026 educational criteria; provided education hour standards.
  • Any trainee holding a valid trainee appraiser credential prior to Jan. 1, 2026, must in addition to all other requirements for licensure complete the 8-hour qualifying course.
  • The course topic is Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations.
  • Provided licensure criteria for State-licensed real estate apraiser, State certified residential real estate appraiser, and State certified general real estate appraiser.
  • Consultation
  • Comments on proposed rulemaking must be submitted in 30 days, Jul. 17, 2024.
  • Sep. 2024 MO INS Final Rule
  • On Sep. 25, 2024, MO INS published notice to adopt MO LEG 20-2245-6.018.
  • Noted that no changes were made from the proposal, and no comment were received.
  • Rule becomes effective in 30 days after publication in Code of State regulations.
