On Mar. 4, ARK INS issued bulletin on producer appointment renewals.
ARK INS issued Bulletin 3-2025 re 2025 company appointment renewals for producers.
Aims to provide the 2025 procedures for appointment renewals and terminations.
Renewals for Insurance Producers
Licensed entity must annually file with a renewal appointment under Producer license model act, Arkansas code annotatedARK INS 23-64-219, and ARK INS 23-64-514(b).
The renewal of a producer's appointment indicates that appointing company reviewed the producer's background and fitness to continue to act as an agent of the company.
The appointment remains in effect during any active duty in any branch of US military.
Each appointment remains in effect until terminated, and if producer allows license to lapse, he/she may reinstate the license within 12 months after renewal fee's due date.
If the reinstatement is done within 12 months, the producer does not have to retake the examination by paying a penalty in the amount of double the unpaid renewal fee.
In the foregoing scenarios, the appointments are terminated at the time of lapse.
Appointment Requirement, Deadlines
Agency's appointments are separate from the producer appointments and should have a direct appointment for agency and one for each producer under the agency license.
The company should verify the status of each producer individual or agency license.
Company appointment renewals will include all active appointments that are in effect through May 24, 2025, and should terminate appointments it doesn't wish to renew.
Terminations must be done by May 24, 2025 via National Insurance Producer Registry.
New appointments will not be processed after May 24, 2025, to prepare for renewals.
Appointment renewals will begin from Jun. 1, 2025 and will end on Jun. 30, 2025.
Repealed Bulletins
Bulletin rescinds prior ARK INS Bulletin 2-2024 entitled, 2024 Company Appointment Renewals for Producer, dated Mar. 5, 2024, and similar Bulletins from the prior years.
