License Overview
Legal services license issued under reg 64 of Russia (sanctions) (EU exit) regulations 2019 and Reg 32 of Republic of Belarus (sanctions) (EU exit) regulations 2019.
Took effect following expiry of general license INT/2024/4671884 on Oct. 28, 2024.
Permits a UK legal firm or UK counsel who has provided legal advice to a person designated under Russia or Belarus regime to receive payment from that designated person without an UK OFSI specific license, provided that license terms are met.
Amendments
This general license has been amended to clarify that legal advice and/or representation in dispute resolution is included in the definition of legal services.
Owned and controlled applies only to companies, not individuals, under DP definition.
Effectiveness
This general license took effect from 00:01 on Oct. 29, 2024, expires at 23:59 on Apr. 28, 2025 and may be varied, revoked, or suspended by UK Treasury at any time
