  • Sep. 2026 Entry Into Force
  • On Sep. 28, 2026, LTH LAB informed of the changes in the Labor Code that will enter into force on Nov. 1, 2026, following the publication of Law XV-1058 of Jun. 25, 2026.
  • The law made amendments to art 33, 36, 40, 41, 49, 52, 58, 59, 60, 112, 113, 118, 119, 127, 133, 140, 146, 147, 156, 166, 175, 181, 192, 193, 194, 197, 210, 211, 217, 236, 237, 244, 245, 247, 250, 251, 252 and 253 of the Labor Code.
  • Changes include the procedure for terminating an employment contract at the employer's will, deadlines for assessing work duties violations, final settlement options.
  • More flexibility will be introduced when negotiating working conditions with employees receiving higher wages, remote work, working time regimes, collective labor relations.

On Feb. 18, LTH GVT approved changes to be submitted to LTH PRL.

  • LTH GVT approved amendments to the Labor Code and accompanying laws prepared by the Ministry of Social Security and Labor regulating labor relations, and strikes.
  • Individual Employment Relationships
  • It is proposed to provide for a higher amount of late payment interest, calculated according to the established formula, the consumer price index, but multiplied by 5.
  • It is proposed to clearly establish that if an employee's working time is reduced by 1 hour before the holidays, the employee is left with wages for that hour. When his wages depend on work standards, the average wage (VMU) is paid for this hour.
  • Other proposals include settlement upon termination of an employment contract.
  • Termination of employment relations by supplementing the grounds for termination of employment relations in the absence of the will of the employment contract's parties.
  • Flexibility in contract terms for highly qualified employees, longer probationary period.
  • Collective Labor Relations
  • The proposals are strengthening collective labor relations re annual leave, remote work, protection of employee representatives, extension of the strike warning duration.
