COL LEG enacted bill SB25-301 to enable health-care providers to adjust a chronic maintenance drug prescription without prior authorization from an insurance carrier.
The purpose of the bill is to prohibit insurance carriers from imposing prior authorization requirements to adjust the dose/frequency chronic maintenance drugs.
This is provided that the drug received approval before for the same chronic or debilitating condition; and it is not an opioid or controlled substance.
Also, provided there were no more than two adjustments without prior authorization.
