LTH PRL issued (Law XV-107) amending arts. 2, 20-7 and 29 of Gambling Law IX-325.
Follows LTH PRL Jan. 2025, amendment to law on payment services, see #241317.
AML and Limiting Payments
Law XV-107 includes provisions to combat illegal remote gambling operators and the procedure for limiting payments for participation in illegal remote gambling.
LTH PRL will publish information on the identified operators of illegal gambling activities who illegally organize remote gambling in the Republic of Lithuania (the List).
Payment service providers must execute payment transactions only with entities on the list, initiated by a payment card and/or remote payment transactions.
Payment methods as set out in law aimed at accepting stakes and/or paying winnings.
This must be in line with provisions of law and for entities published in the List only.
Effectiveness
Law XV-107 shall enter into force on May 1, 2025.
Director of Gambling Supervision Service under LTH MoF shall adopt the implementing legal acts of this law by Jan. 31, 2025.
