Aug. 4, 2025 Fed Reg Final Rules
On Aug. 4, 2025, FCC published final rules in the federal register regarding the removal of obsolete regulations and the delegations of authority.
Eliminated certain outdated, obsolete, unnecessary rules effective on Oct. 3, 2025, without further action, unless significant adverse comment received by Aug. 14, 2025.
Modified delegation of authority rules to provide clarity, uniformity re use of delegated authority to adopt changes that are exempt from prior notice, effective Aug. 4, 2025.
On Aug. 7, 2025, FCC took action to repeal 98 broadcast rules and requirements that are obsolete, outdated, or unnecessary, including rules dating nearly 50 years ago
Primarily in broadcast services section of regulations that plainly do not serve public interest any longer because they govern obsolete technology, rules no longer used.
Amendments shall become effective 60 days after federal register publication.
Aug. 20, 2025 Fed Reg Final Rule
On Aug. 20, 2025, FCC published direct final rule, request for comments in the federal register; effective Oct. 20, 2025, unless significant comments received by Sep. 9.
Commission would publish withdrawal informing public the provisions of the rule(s) for which significant adverse comments were received and elimination will not take effect.
