On Jun. 12, SK DP approved 2025 processing policy evaluation plan.
SK DP said a draft Personal information processing policy evaluation plan for 2025 has been deliberated and approved at its 13th general meeting held on Jun. 11, 2025.
Outline of Evaluation Plan
SK DP selected 50 services in seven fields, including new services utilizing new technologies such as AI, such as connected cards, edutech, smart home, generative AI, mobile carriers, rental/reservation services, and health management applications.
In 2025, evaluation by a user group consisting of members of the public will be added (worth 40 points), in addition to the existing unilateral and expert-centered evaluation.
The two evaluation groups will conduct evaluations in terms of adequacy, readability, accessibility, to ensure objectivity and policy acceptability of the evaluation results.
SK DP will evaluate whether the purpose of processing personal data, items collected, and retention period are consistent with actual processing status, as well as adequacy.
Specified the evaluation criteria for determining the adequacy of the revised consent system, established a new index to confirm the specificity/convenience of the method of refusing to collect behavioral information through automated collection devices.
According to the evaluation results, rewards and fine reductions will be granted to personal data controllers with excellent processing policies as per the PIPA (SKOR).
On the other hand, underperforming personal information controllers will be subject to improvement recommendations and re-evaluations to be carried out in 2026.
After a briefing on Jun. 16, 2025, SK DP will implement evaluations starting Jul. 2025.
