On Sep. 19, RUS PRL proposed bill amending law on advertisement.
RUS PRL proposed bill 721174-8amending the law on advertisement specifically related to advertisement services related to personal bankruptcy.
Proposals
Services of so-called "debt collectors" are widely used but such organizations often conduct aggressive advertising campaigns and do not adhere to quality standards.
The bill provides for 3 main requirements for advertising such services: the obligation to inform about the possibility of conducting bankruptcy proceedings free of charge.
Also, a ban on placing guarantees of exemption of a citizen from debts in advertising, and obligation to indicate consequences of the bankruptcy procedure for an individual.
The adoption of the bill will protect citizens from possible abuses in advertising services related to bankruptcy of citizens, and from more financial and property risks.
