SBA made Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) available to Montana small businesses suffering economic losses due to drought that began on Aug. 27, 2024.
Eligibility
Eligible, primary Montana counties: Carter, Roosevelt and Sheridan; also, neighboring Montana counties: Custer, Daniels, Fallon, McCone, Powder River, Richland and Valley.
Neighboring North Dakota counties: Divide, McKenzie and Williams; also, neighboring South Dakota counties: Butte and Harding; neighboring Wyoming county: Crook.
Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs up to $2 million.
EIDLs are intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met by the impacted businesses had the disaster not occurred.
Eligibility based on the financial impact of disaster only, not on any property damage.
Application Deadline
Completed applications for EIDLs must be submitted to the SBA by May 5, 2025.
