On Oct. 23, UK OFSI issued a general license on interim necessities.

  • UK OFSI published a general license and publication notice on interim necessities.
  • Allows for DPs/persons acting on behalf of DPs to make payments for remuneration, allowances, contractual or statutory redundancy payments to UK employees, directors.
  • Pensions of UK employees, fees and others costs re provision of IT services and fees or other costs related to provision of UK chartered or certified accountancy services.

  • General license takes effect from Oct. 23, 2025 and expires at 23:59 on Apr. 22, 2026.
  • Oct. 28, 2025 Definitions
  • On Oct. 28, 2025, UK OFSI advised that the definition of UK employers and UK directors have been amended to simplify the definitions, and provide additional clarity regarding which individuals could receive payments under the license.
  • Dec. 2025 Updated License
  • On Dec. 17, 2025, UK OFSI confirmed that general license INT/2025/7628424 (interim necessities general license) has been updated; publication notice updated also.
  • Definition of IT Providers amended to read: UK providers of broadband services, telephone services, email services, anti-virus software services, and regulatory reporting software.
  • Permission 4.I was amended and now reads: Remuneration, allowances and redundancy payments to UK Employees and UK Directors.

  • On Dec. 19, 2025, UK OFSI updated the license to include changes introduced on Oct. 28, 2025, which were inadvertently omitted from the earlier amendments made to the license on Dec. 17, 2025; publication notice updated also.
