  • Eligibility
  • The primary counties that are eligible for aid are Berkeley and Orangeburg; the adjacent counties of Aiken, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Charleston, Clarendon.
  • Also, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Lexington and Williamsburg in South Carolina.
  • Assistance Available
  • Businesses and private nonprofits may borrow up to $2mn to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed real estate, equipment, inventory and other business assets.
  • Small businesses, small agricultural cooperative and small businesses engaged in aquaculture, most private nonprofits, the SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
  • EIDLs assist businesses in meeting working capital needs caused by the disaster.; it is not necessary for the business to have suffered physical property damage in the event.
  • Loans up to $500k are available to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate.
  • Homeowners, renters are eligible for loans up to $100k for damaged personal property
  • Applicants may be eligible for a loan amount increase of up to 20% of their physical damages, as verified by the Small Business Administration for mitigation purposes.
  • Eligible mitigation improvements may include a safe room or storm shelter, sump pump, French drain or retaining wall to help protect property and occupants in future.
  • Deadline
  • The deadline to file physical property damage applications is Nov. 18, 2024.
  • Deadline to return applications for Economic injury disaster loans is Jun. 18, 2025.
