Outline of Notice
IND MCA set final deadline of Aug. 30, 2025, for companies to file form IEPF-1A with prescribed Excel template under rule 5(4A) of IEPF (accounting, audit, transfer and refund) rules, 2016.
Over 3k companies have not filed form IEPF-1A or submitted statements in non-compliant formats despite multiple instructions since Aug. 20, 2019 notification.
IND MCA holds more than 31k SRNs of IEPF-1/7 filed in formats other than Excel template, causing difficulty in identifying amounts due to investors and resulting in short payments and complaints.
Companies required to file if they transferred amounts under s205C of Companies act, 1956 to IND MCA or IND GVT without submitting required statement in Excel template format, or filed form IEPF-1 under Companies act, 2013 in non-compliant formats.
Non-compliance by Aug. 30, 2025, will attract regulatory action under Companies act, 2013; relevant SRN lists and Excel templates will be shared with company nodal officers via registered email addresses.
