On Aug. 23, CAL LEG passed bill on resources for domestic abuse.


  • CAL LEG passed bill AB 2422 , to make available online resources re financial abuse of victims of domestic violence for the purpose of protecting survivors’ assets, resources.
  • Add Chapter 11, staring at Section 900, to Division 1 of Financial code, CAL FIN 1-11.
  • Bill Provisions
  • Requires CAL DFPI, on or before Jan. 1, 2027, to make available to financial institutions general public resources on financial abuse of victims of domestic violence.
  • Authorize department to utilize existing internet websites, links, and other online resources in order the meet the requirement to make the online resources available.
  • Does not require financial institutions using online information by department to become mandated reporters of domestic violence; resources to be reviewed annually.
