CAL LEG passed bill AB 2422 , to make available online resources re financial abuse of victims of domestic violence for the purpose of protecting survivors’ assets, resources.
Add Chapter 11, staring at Section 900, to Division 1 of Financial code, CAL FIN 1-11.
Bill Provisions
Requires CAL DFPI, on or before Jan. 1, 2027, to make available to financial institutions general public resources on financial abuse of victims of domestic violence.
Authorize department to utilize existing internet websites, links, and other online resources in order the meet the requirement to make the online resources available.
Does not require financial institutions using online information by department to become mandated reporters of domestic violence; resources to be reviewed annually.
