SBA made Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) available to South Dakota small businesses suffering economic losses due to drought that began on Aug. 27.
Eligibility
Primary South Dakota county is Harding, with neighboring SD counties Butte and Perkins; and MT counties of Carter, Fallon; ND counties of Adams and Bowman.
Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs up to $2 million.
EIDLs are intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met by the impacted businesses had the disaster not occurred.
Eligibility based on financial impact of disaster only, not on any property damage.
Deadline
Completed applications for EIDLs must be submitted to SBA by May 5, 2025.
