  • SBA offered disaster aid to GA small businesses affected by water main breaks.
  • Businesses affected by the water main breaks that occurred from May 31 through Jun. 6, 2024 may apply for low-interest, long-term Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs).
  • Eligibility
  • Aid is in the form of low-interest, long-term Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs).
  • EIDLs are available in Fulton County and the adjacent counties of Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth and Gwinnett in Georgia.
  • Businesses, nonprofits may borrow up to $2mn for working capital needs due to break.
  • For small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits, SBA offers EIDLs to help meet working capital needs.
  • EIDLs are available regardless of whether the business suffered any physical damage.
  • SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.
  • Interest does not accrue, and no payments due until 12 months from first loan draw.
  • Application Deadlines
  • Filing deadline to return economic injury applications is Apr. 10, 2025.
