Purpose of Workers' Compensation Act
Amends the Workers' Compensation Act and various other acts to improve industrial injury system and easier access to compensation in connection with violence at work.
The purpose of this Act is to provide compensation and compensation to injured persons or their survivors in the event of an industrial injury and related support.
The injury must have been caused by the work or conditions under which it takes place, cf. sections 5-7 of Act, but employer does not need to have acted in certain way.
Specifically that gives rise to liability, and via employers' financing of compensation, the prevention of occupational injuries is supported by working environment system.
In case processes, both the injured or their relatives and the employer, insurance company, authorities and doctors are involved, and this accounts for needs of injured.
Promulgation Note
Workers' Compensation Act, cf. Consolidated Act no. 1186 of Aug. 19, 2022, has been promulgated with amendments resulting from s. 20 of Act no. 753 of Jun. 13, 2023.
Also, resulting from the provisions of s. 3 of Act no. 1538 of Dec. 12, 2023, section 2 of Act no. 1540 of Dec. 12 2023 and s. 1 of Act no. 1541 of Dec. 12, 2023.
Effectiveness
The promulgated text of the Act concerning Sections 29(4), 49a, 49b, 53, 82(1), 2nd sentence and 82(2), 2nd sentence enters into force on Jan. 1, 2025.
This is in relation to cf. Section 9(3) of Act no. 1541 of Dec. 12, 2023
Certain provisions are in force on different effective dates, as per amendments made in Dec. 12, 2023, including Jan. 1, 2024 and Feb. 1, 2024.
