On Sep. 26, SBA made disaster loans available in MT due to drought.

  • SBA stated small nonfarm businesses in five Montana counties and a neighboring county in Wyoming are now eligible to apply for low interest federal disaster loans.
  • Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) are working capital loans available to small businesses in MT due to reduced revenues caused by drought beginning Sep. 17.
  • Eligibility
  • Loans are available in primary county of Powder River, neighboring MT counties of Big Horn, Carter, Custer, Rosebud; neighboring WY counties of Campbell, Crook, Sheridan.
  • Available to small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofits with economic losses due to drought.
  • EIDLS of up to $2 million can assist in meeting financial obligations and operating expenses, which otherwise could have been met had the drought not occurred.
  • Application Deadline
  • Completed EIDL applications must be submitted to SBA no later than May 23, 2025.
